Anthony N. Pettitt (Tony or TFP)

Based out of Fort Worth, Texas, Tony Pettitt is a trial lawyer who has been practicing since 1997. Although he primarily practices in Tarrant, Dallas and surrounding counties, he has also successfully handled cases as far south as Hidalgo County, as far west as El Paso County and as far north as Potter County. For the first decade of his career, he defended cases involving automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability and wrongful death. During this time, he was a partner in a big, Dallas-based firm with offices in three cities. Tony says that he experienced a bit of an early midlife crises during which he traded in his high-rise office in downtown Fort Worth for his current location in the Stockyards. Although he carved his niche in the area of personal injury defense and still defends those cases, he now has an active plaintiffs practice as well as an active commercial litigation practice. A graduate of Texas Christian University’s Ranch Management program, he utilizes his agrarian knowledge by representing land owners in areas such as wind lease negotiation, pipeline easements, condemnation issues and the like.

Tony graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU) with a B.A. in history and Spanish in 1993. He also studied in three foreign study programs at Christian Spanish Academy, Antigua Guatemala (1990), Oxford University: University College, Oxford, England (1992) and Fenix Spanish Academy, Cuernavaca, Mexico (1993). Tony received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University and was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1997. He was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 2001. He also graduated from TCU’s Ranch Management program in 2001.

He has been recognized by his peers with an “AV” Preeminent Peer Review Rating at Martindale Hubbell. He was also recognized in Texas Monthly as a Rising Star/Super Lawyer in the field of personal injury defense for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and for personal injury plaintiff in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was also named in Fort Worth, Texas: The City’s Magazine as a top trial attorney in Tarrant County in 2007, 2012, 2015 and 2016.  Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a recognition afforded to only 1/3 of 1% of Texas Attorneys.

Tony was raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and he can read, write and speak Spanish. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their twins, Tanner and Elle. He is very active in the community, and he sits on the board of a non-profit memorial fund responsible for donating scholarships to TCU students. He is also a board member for The Fort Worth Herd, and he is a past founding board member of the Panther Club, a young professional board benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth. He coaches Little League baseball for Fort Worth’s University Little League. Tony is an avid hunter and fisherman and travels worldwide in pursuit of this passion.
